How do you buy the right Cisco router?
I have a cisco 2620 router that I want to use for my network. It will be connected to a 10mb metro ethernet line. The router will have a FE 10/100 built in and a 10/100 module. How can I be sure that this router will have enough power. It will be doing simple site to site static routing, and basically just passing traffic between 2 netapp devices with a large amount of data (roughly 7mb all the time for a off site synchronizaztion of a database) . How can I be sure this will the right router?
I also think you’ll be fine. That router appears to be rated for 20,000 packets/sec. At a standard packet size of roughly 1500 bytes for an Ethernet packet, that works out to about 240Mbps, which is way more than your 10Mbps line.
