Installing an 8foot high sectional cabinet panel?
installing an 8foot high sectional cabinet panel. what’s the best way to attach it to the wall/cabinets?
most of the cabinets are already there.
i need to put two panels, with one cabinet in between them – “fridge-enclosure”. i have cabinets on the right of fridge. top cabinet is there, but bottom cabinet is not yet attached: opening for gas stove is on the right of this cabinet. so i want to put panel first, then bottom cabinet.
do i need to attach panel to the floor with some sort of anchor?
Fieldstone cabinets. I think I got the spelling right…
A simple ‘L’ bracket or cleat will do the trick nicely for securing the panel to the floor, and even to the wall studs.
Do a ‘dry fit’ first, because you may need to trim the bottom of the panels to ensure they are plumb and align properly with the other cabinets. If there is any trim along the wall, then you will need to either remove it, or cope out the panels so they will slide flush to the wall. (I’d pull the trim, and recut it to fit)
A clamp can help hold the upper cabinets together while you run some screws to connect them. Most upper cabinets are secured by running screws thru the cleats on the top of the units. In the matter of connecting a taller ‘fridge enclosure to some upper cabinets, I would shoot a couple of screws thru the inside of the enclosure cabinet, into the cleat of the adjacent upper cabinet (just in case your screws are a little long)
